Situated just 1 mile north of Leeds City Centre and experiencing slow regeneration, Harehills is seeing some growth in professional lets in Leeds. As the name suggests it is situated on a hill, with many sloping streets of terraced houses in a rich cultural and ethnic mix.
Eating & Drinking
There is a vast array of fast food outlets with offerings from around the world and there is also a good quality Persian restaurant.
Many of the traditional style pubs have closed and this could see the arrival of some new style bars.
Sport and leisure
In the middle of Harehills is Banstead Park, a grassy slope with trees and play areas with good views across Leeds.
Shopping
There are two main shopping streets, Harehills and Harehills Road which join at the junction of Roundhay Road, heading towards Oakwood.
Transport
Buses run regularly through Harehills to Leeds city centre, Oakwood, Roundhay, Gipton, Seacroft and Wetherby.
Working
Leeds city centre is just a mile away and employers from almost all industries have a base in Leeds. It is a major hub for professional services, law and financial services, with well known companies such as First Direct, Yorkshire Bank and Leeds Building Society. It also has the highest number of central government jobs outside of London, with the Department of Health particularly. Asda’s headquarters are close to the station and Morrison’s HQ is a short hop to the edge of Bradford.
