Hyde Park is ideally located for student accommodation in Leeds due to its proximity to the University of Leeds and Leeds Metropolitan University. The well known Hyde Park corner hosts a range of shops, bars, restaurants and cafes and is only a ten minute walk from Headingley to the North or Leeds City Centre to the South.

Eating & Drinking

There is a good selection of pubs, take aways and convenience stores in Hyde Park, so it’s not surprising it is growing popularity for student properties in Leeds. The clock café is a cool little place that serves great coffee and sandwiches. Popinas is famous for its mega breakfast but also has a range of pizzas, foccacines and sandwiches. The Hyde Park pub is a popular student pub with cheap drinks and is always busy. There is also the Fab Café, Reform and the well known Dry Dock, a converted barge boat, located on the edge of Hyde Park.

Entertainment and culture

Hyde Park boasts one of the oldest cinemas in Yorkshire. The Hyde Park Picture House screens a mix of recent releases, independent productions and arthouse films. It offers discounts for students but be quick as tickets sell out quickly.

Sport and leisure

Students will find Headingley stadium just up the road which is home to Yorkshire County Cricket Club, Leeds Rhinos Rugby League and Leeds Carnegie Rugby Union.

Shopping

The shops at Hyde Park corner range from vintage boutiques to bike shops and convenience stores. There are a couple of small supermarkets and independent mini markets and there is also a launderette and pharmacy.

Transport

Conveniently located, all student areas are accessible either by walking or a short bus ride away. For those travelling home from University, Leeds City Station is a short trip in to the city centre and the M1 and M62 are within easy reach.

Working

As a popular location for Leeds student accommodation many of the jobs in Hyde Park are in retail and hospitality. The number of shops, bars, cafes and pubs mean that at the start of each semester, there are part times jobs available.
